The chital (cheetal, spotted deer, Axis deer) is found on the Indian subcontinent. It is a moderate-sized deer, male reaching 66-165 lb, with males larger than females, antlers present only on males. They are active primarily during the day, are very gregarious. In the 1860s, axis deer were introduced to the island of Molokai, Hawaii, as a gift from Hong Kong to King Kamehameha V. The deer were introduced to Lanai, another of the Hawaiian Islands, soon afterward and are now plentiful on both islands. In 1932, axis deer were introduced to Texas. In 1988, self-sustaining herds were found in 27 counties. – from Wikipedia.
I thought that this multi-spotted cheetal buck deserved a more artistic setting. Hence the digital art conversion I did.
Looking for the perfect capture remains my quest. To that effect, roaming about with a motor home seems a perfect fit. My wife and dogs and I will be out there whenever possible to capture the views available, and those unique moments to share with our friends and family. Join us in this quest.
